Little late posting but internet is hard to come by here without paying an arm and a leg. No doubt this is truly a land of absolute night and day by that I mean ether spectacular and beautiful or awful no in between. I have met very few actual Kiwis as it is most of the population this time of year is tourists. In the first two days I spent time in the city of Auckland it is no doubt one of the strangest cities in the world with the most diverse culture I have ever seen in one place. I walked past a closed down army surplus store which had Japanese uniforms right next to American Uniforms. Truly interesting how the south Pacific is mainly British an Island of nearly equal size on the opposite side of the planet.

I love the tree. The vegetation around the gold mine looks tropical. More info on the environment please. Is there more gold? Does winter happen in the part of New Zealand your visiting now? Did you go swimming in the ocean? In the caves?
